Shipley Railway Station

Shipley

Opened: 1846

History:

One of only 2 remaining triangular stations in the UK, which poses signalling problems and restricts train length.

Our current campaigns for the station:

  • Provide a replacement automatic ticket machine, and necessary repairs
  • Working with Network Rail to resolve problems associated with the Triangle
  • Improving access and capacity in the car park
  • Improving access to Windhill, possibly a footbridge over the former Bradford Canal.
  • Sell tickets on platform 1 in peak hours to reduce congestion at the Leeds ticket desk.
